• 2022 Joe is born, his mother abandons him. He grows up on the streets, and becomes a criminal.
  • 2033 Eventually Joe is caught by Abe's henchmen. Abe trains and hires him as an assassin to kill people from the future. This is called a Looper, whom disposes of a body zapped into the present past.
  • 2034 Cid is born, and possesses a mutation which gives him super telekinetics. Sara, his mother, gives him to her sister. He therefore grows up thinking Sara's sister is his mother.
  • 2042 Cid, in a temper tantrum, explodes with anger and kills Sara's sister. This tragedy effects him deeply, thinking he killed his mother.
  • 2042 Joe acquires considerable wealth from his illicit lifestyle over the years.

    Joe learns from his friend Seth that all Loopers will also be disposed. This means that a Looper will kill himself, in exchange for a big payout now. When this happens to Joe, a paradox occurs. You get to be Joe:

    Bad choice. Your older self runs away. Meanwhile, Abe's men hunt you down and kill you. As a consequence, this destroys the paradox. You never grow old, and you never time travel. Therefore you never would have been able to make the choice that you just did.

  • 2044 Knowing your entire existence will vanish if you let young Joe die, you save him from Abe's men. Then you run. But you suddenly find your past altered as a result, you have scarred "BEATRIX" on your wrist. You meet up with young Joe, and are careful to not let him kill you.
  • You explain that he is a young criminal punk and that a wife and a family is more important, that you will kill The Rainmaker. Young Joe tries to tricks you into getting a glimpse of your wife. Which if young Joe knows, he'll use to avoid your wife, thus causing a paradox and obliterating your existence. You prevent that, but then Abe's men arrive and a shoot out starts.
  • Unfortunately, young Joe ripped a piece of your map of the young Rainmaker's whereabouts during the fight. You escape and run. So does he. You go kill a kid, but it was not The Rainmaker. A sweet, innocent kid. So much for being a family man.
  • You go kill another kid. What is worse, the mother was your young (and is young Joe's) girlfriend prostitute. That means you might be killing your own kid. So much for being a family man. But hey, it would make sense that your (maybe) kid is the infamous legendary Rainmaker, 'cause he would be BA like you.
  • Speaking of being Baller Awesome, you are not. You just got trapped like a rat by Abe's clumsiest henchman. But you do totally escape it and kill a bajillion elite assassins, so nevermind, you are BA again. Though, forget that, it turns out your (maybe) kid was not the Rainmaker - so at least you avoided killing your own son.
  • You go hunt down the last kid, only to discover that young Joe is stopping you because he fell in love with The Rainmaker's mom. So you are like, suck, your lonely past self really slept around with everybody. But then you realized all that unnecessary sex had to happen in order to get people to watch your movie about time travel cause you aren't as good as Christopher Nolan.
  • Oh woops, sorry, would not want to also break the fourth wall. Then nobody would see it except literary nerds and scifi geeks. Where were we? Right, killing kids. Congratulations, you are now the villain and hero.

  • 2044 Cid escapes, traumatized. He grows up with no mother, and leads a life of crime.
  • 2045 Joe decides he wants to leave his criminal life in Kansas. He packs up and travels to China with his amassed fortune. But after too much partying, he becomes bored and returns to his old crime life. While he restores his depleted fortunes over the years, Joe grows old. Eventually he meets his wife and gets married. This time, he cleans up for good, and his wife makes him a family man.
  • 2058 Cid grows up as a good kid. Solves the economic downturn, and brings peace back to the world. Creates a vibrant spandex suit and becomes the first superhero. Gets married to a hottie, and starts having lots of kids.
  • 2064
    He works with mathematicians and scientists to create time travel. Without his contribution to time theory, they would have made a linear time traveling machine. One that works like a lame Hollywood movie. But being ahead of his times, they built a non-linear time machine, instead. This enabled simultaneous perception of all combinations of time, at once.
    TIME TRAVEL
  • 2064 This trauma stays with Cid, over all these years, leading him to a criminal lifestyle and becoming a crime boss. However, advancements in tracking technology make homicide hard to hide, which keeps law enforcement clamping down on his organization.
  • 2074
    Time travel is invented, and immediately outlawed. Cid sees this as an opportunity to dispose of dead bodies. Using his power, he gains possession of a time travel machine. He sends his best man, Abe, back in time to hire assassins.

    The Rainmaker has Joe hunted down, to close his loop. The henchmen find him in China, and kill his wife. As they bag him for time travel, enraged Joe escapes and kills them. Fast thinking, and a few seconds late, Joe decides to take the jump. He'll go back in time and kill the Rainmaker as a child.
