Important Note On Navigating the Different Pages of this Collaborative Web Site

Steps:
1.) Please hold down "Control" (and continue holding it down), then click on any of the Page Links above.
2.) Next, select the pop-up "Open Link in New Tab / Window" and let go. A new tab or window will open.

--Once you created new tabs or windows, you do not have to do Steps 1 & 2 anymore. Just click on the browser's tab or window to go to that page.
Any new windows need steps1 & 2.

--This procedure is needed to prevent build-up of "This page was viewed . . . " at the bottom, and also for you to log-in to OneDrive.

Compare and Contrast Essay Steps
for Eugenia Gapchunska
and Kaneko Misuzu's Pictures


1.) Step 1:

-Learn about Visual Elements and Principles to know and apply the necessary
vocabulary before writing a compare and contrast essay of Eugenia
Gapchunska's and Kaneko Misuzu's art illustrations.

Option A.

Step 2:

Step 3:

a.) Select 2-pictures from Eugenia Gapchunska's site and download it and save to OneDrive.
-For School 106, name each picture file as: S106-eg1; S106-eg2;
-For TYIS, name each picture file as: tyis-eg1; tyis-eg2; tyis-eg3)

Steps to save a picture for Eugenia Gapchunska's site:
a.) Click a picture     
b.) Control-Click-hold,  then select  "Save image to the Desktop"



b.)
Select 2-pictures from Kaneko Misuzu's site and download it and save to OneDrive.
-For School 106, name each picture file as: s106-km1; s106-km2;
-For TYIS, name each picture file as: tyis-km1; tyis-km2
Steps to save a picture from Kaneko Misuzu's site:
a.) Select a picture below (take note of the  "vol. #" at the bottom center of the picture)
b.) Control-Click-hold,  then select  "Save image to the Desktop"




Step 4:

-While viewing the selected pictures in OneDrive, discuss in small groups and type-in "See-Think-Wonder"
statements into the two charts below
(include some "Visual Elements and Principles" vocabulary that you learned above).





Step 5a:
As a class, use the interactive venn diagram below to brainstorm ideas for similarites and differences using the above "See-Think-Wonder" statements.


Step 5b:
You may also use the  graphic organizer below to organize your compare and contrast statements:

-View an example of how some of the Visual Elements and Principles are
used in this Compare and Contrast Essay:

Step 7:
a.) Write your individual Compare and Contrast Essays using the writing process.
Students from both schools can proofread and edit each other's essays by
placing it into OneDrive and editing these directly in MS Word (please use a
colored font to show edits; also at the bottom of the essay, please type your
name using the same proofreading/editing color.

b.) Volunteers can have their Compare and Contrast essays published on our
collaboration site.

Step 8: EXTENSION ACTIVITY
-Students may create an interactive glogster.ed poster later (log-in details forthcoming).
