This is a 2008 Nissan Altima SE V6 coupe finished in Code Red (aka Ferrari Red or Fire Engine Red) with the Charcoal Black leather interior. If you are already familiar with the Altima coupe, you may want to skip over the next few paragraphs that give a comprehensive overview of the car, and go straight to the pictures. The Altima 4-door sedan was totally redesigned in 2007 and this coupe bodystyle wasn't available until the 2008 model year. While the coupe has many of the same mechanical components as the 4-door, aside from its aluminum hood, the coupe shares no body panels with the sedan, instead culling numerous visual cues from the 350Z and Infinity G37. So not only does the styling look much sportier, it's 4-inch shorter wheelbase and lighter weight over the sedan enhance the sports car feel.

The car looks absolutely fantastic in this color. If you are going to spend five figures on a vehicle, you should get the best color they come in and you shouldn't have to settle on just any color that comes along. Sure, black or blue are nice, green is interesting, and white and silver are O.K. if a bit bland, but only this shade of red really catches everyone's eye. Remember, as you step out of your home every day, and as you set eyes on your car, nothing but a Code Red Altima will get you feeling as excited about your day ahead. You'll probably be driving this car for a few years, so just ask yourself, would you rather wake up every morning to a Code Red Altima, or just some other color you “settled” for. You're likely to get many complements about it at the mall or supermarket parking lot. If you are the least bit shy, don't buy this car, I warn you.

This Altima coupe is powered by a VQ35DE 270 horsepower DOHC 24-valve 3.5 liter V6 all aluminum engine that has received numerous rave reviews by engineers and the automotive press for it's high power output, excellent economy and inherent smoothness. In fact, the Altima has the strongest 6-cylinder engine in its class with more horsepower than the Honda Accord coupe, Toyota Camry Solara or the Mitsubishi Eclipse. More horsepower then even its bigger brother, the Maxima! This engine features an aluminum block and cylinder heads for light weight and excellent heat dissipation, dual overhead cams with Variable Valve Timing (CVTCS) and a Variable Induction System (VIS) for maximum power output at all engine speeds, metal timing chains for reduced maintenance, multiport fuel injection for excellent gas mileage, drive by wire throttle for precise engine control and coil on plug (COP) ignition for reliability in all environmental conditions.

The engine is mated to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) Xtronic® automatic transmission. The CVT combines the ease of driving an automatic with the more direct power transmission and better fuel economy of a manual transmission. Instead of having individual gears, it has a steel belt between two variable diameter pulleys to transfer torque through a wide range of “gear” ratios. It provides a stepless and seamless flow of power continuously from idle to redline with a silky smoothness that no other transmission, either manual or conventional automatic, can match. It's almost like driving an electric car, but with a whole lot more power. The CVT has a Manual mode with six “virtual” gears. By moving the shifter to the left, you can manually hold the transmission in “gear” and tap the shifter forward or backward to shift up or down for improved performance and control on winding roads or passing maneuvers, and greater engine braking on downgrades. The CVT has a low starting “gear” ratio that provides brisk acceleration which gets you from 0 to 60 mph in just 6 seconds like a sports car, while a high top “gear” ratio allows for effortless highway cruising and excellent fuel economy figures of over 30 mpg in real world driving. In other words, this CVT has a lower “first gear” and a much higher “top gear” than conventional transmissions so that it can have a low final drive ratio of 5.17 to 1 which gives it such enhanced acceleration when starting off, and great gas mileage when cruising.

Rounding out the Altima SE are brakes and a suspension made to carve up twisting roads. Start off with a light curb weight of 3,200 pounds and a chassis much stiffer than the previous generation Altima. Add in a four-wheel independent suspension with struts up front and a multi-link setup in the rear as well as anti-roll bars all around plus rack and pinion steering. For secure braking there are 4 wheel discs with ABS and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and 17 inch low profile tires. For maximum control in all road conditions, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) is an electronic stability program (ESP) the uses the components from the ABS system and the electronic throttle to regulate engine torque to enhance directional control with over/understeering of the vehicle being counteracted by applying brakes to the appropriate wheel to create a countervailing vehicle movement. It goes without saying that the Altima coupe is one of the most fun cars to drive in it's class, and that it's quicker, faster and handles better than many other pseudo-sports cars costing thousands more.

Not only is this Altima fun to drive, it's also economical to maintain. Most systems have low or reduced maintenance components. For example, instead of a timing belt that needs periodic replacement, the Altima V6 engine uses a steel timing chain that lasts for the life of the engine. Under normal driving conditions the transmission fluid never needs changing, the engine uses iridium tipped spark plugs with 105,000 mile service intervals and extended life coolant with a 60,000 mile service interval.

The entire Altima line was totally redesigned for 2007 and is improved over the previous model in every respect. Then in 2008 Nissan introduced the coupe for those desiring all the comfort, reliability and affordability of an Altima sedan, with the sporty styling of a 2-door. Both mechanically and stylistically the Altima coupe has earned the reputation of becoming one of the best vehicles in its class. Its new exterior style is very unique. From its sleek lines and sweeping curves incorporating elements from premium European and Japanese sports cars, it looks handsome from any angle without being flashy.

A quick walk around the car reveals how the Altima coupe is one of the most stylish vehicles ever created in the compact sport coupe class of automobiles. From up front, its sharp sleek lines with a black honeycomb grille, steeply raked windshield, clear lens bi-xenon headlights and jewel effect reflectors flow into sweeping curves along the sides of the car with body colored door handles, body colored mirrors incorporating chic euro style secondary turn signal lights and body colored aerodynamic side skirts for a monochromatic look. On the roof a low profile body color antenna adds another euro touch. Then, going back, the cars' lines meld into a nearly horizontal rear window and a short fastback trunk lid surrounded by oversize taillights, while the bumper has a black lower valance to accentuate the twin polished stainless steel exhaust tips suggesting this car is ready to take off at any moment.

The exterior is beautiful to look at, but if you like high tech design, the interior is a feast for the eyes. Without having to take the key out of your pocket or purse, press the button on the door handle to unlock the door. Get in and sit down in an 8-way power sport bucket seat that adjusts to the perfect driving position with settings for height adjustment, recline and lumbar support. Notice the soft supple feel of the softgrain uphostery, take a deep breath and inhale the scent of aromatic leathers surrounding you. The rich musky interior aroma could easily be mistaken for a BMW or Jaguar. Then adjust the tilt and telescoping leather wrapped steering wheel to achieve complete driving control. Notice how the thickly padded rim affords just the right grip and that the cruise control and infotainment switches are just a fingertip away surrounded by brushed aluminum trim. Now glance above you at the large glass moonroof that lets in light in all weather conditions and opens up on nice sunny days. Next, look ahead at the dashboard with the warm glow of the electroluminescent gauge pod and center stack with night vision red LED displays and how easy they are to read. Look right and left at the brushed aluminum trim and titanium accents on the doors and center console and the chrome trimmed dials and vents in the center stack. Not only is the styling all sport, but all the textures have a rich feel and look and all the switchgear have a precise soft touch action. From the perforations of the leather wrapped steering wheel, the graining pattern on the dash and door panels, or the layout of the knobs and switches on the dash, everything looks and feels like it came from a more expensive car. Now step on the brake pedal and press the start button to turn the engine on, all the while thinking to yourself how convenient it is never having to search for the keys. You hear a light but unobtrusive growl and are surprised how smooth it idles. Next, take it for a spin. Feel how smoothly the CVT transmission fluidly transfers power to the pavement compared to any other car you've driven before. The absence of perceptible shifts gives a whole other dimension to the driving experience. And if you need to accelerate, there is no hesitation while the transmission finds a lower gear, but an instant surge of power right now. So whether on congested city streets, open highways, or twisting mountain roads, you will be amazed how smooth, quick and powerful this Altima SE drives.

This Altima SE coupe is fully equipped with all the desirable safety, comfort and convenience features and equipment including:

And many more items too numerous to mention.

The car is in beautiful condition inside and out. The Code Red paint just about glows in the sunlight. It has an excellent dent-free body without even any parking lot door dings or bumper scuffs to mention, just a touched up nick and scratch on the right side of the rear bumper. That's it. If you hate those annoying dings and blemishes, you'll love the body on this car. Only problem is you will have to park at the far end of the lot to keep it looking this nice. The paint itself is excellent and has been cleaned with Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay System, polished with Meguiar's Mirror Glaze cleaner polish and topped off with Meguiar's Ultimate Synthetic Wax for a high gloss shine. Even both the front and also the backsides of the wheels have been cleaned and waxed! How obsessed is that? Ditto for the polished stainless steel exhaust tips.

The interior is beautiful as well. It has excellent upholstery, carpet, dashboard and door panels with no cracks, rips or tears or any significant signs of wear. The car doesn‘t have any smokers smell. In fact, it's not even equipped with a lighter. The trunk looks like it was hardly ever used and the engine compartment has been fully detailed and is clean enough to eat off of.

Mechanically it runs and drives excellent. The engine and transmission pulls strong and yet feels silky smooth both at idle, while accelerating and throughout the cruising range. Nissan has an extended warranty on the transmission for 10 years/120,000 miles whichever comes first. The steering wheel is on dead center going down the road with no shakes or vibrations at speed, the brakes are firm with no pedal pulsations or pulling to one side when stopping and the suspension is tight. The A/C blows ice cold. It has a matching set of four high performance Falken Ziex tires size P215/55R17 with excellent tread all around. These tires combine a high performance tread design, exceptional all-season wet/dry traction, extended comfort, excellent handling and superior tread life. They have been balanced with coated stick-on balance weights mounted on the inside of the wheel for a super clean look. These weights won't corrode and turn ugly like cheap uncoated weights. All brake pads and rotors are new or like new and the center sections of the rotors were ceramic coated to resist rusting. If you hate seeing rusty rotors through the wheels, you will love how these look. The spare tire and jack doesn't look like they have ever been used. So overall, this car looks, runs and drives like any well kept 30,000 mile car does.

The car has been fully checked out and serviced with over $3,000 worth of new or recent parts, maintenance and repairs with original Nissan or other name brand parts so that only your enjoyment rather than your immediate attention will be required on delivery. 2008 is the first year of the Altima coupe and if you've been looking for a coupe the 2008 model is the best value since it's nearly identical to the 2012's you can buy new at the dealer, but being four model years old, the majority of the depreciation has been absorbed by the previous owner, yet the car still looks and runs like new. Since the '08 Altima coupe was the first year of the new bodystyle, it's the oldest, and thus, the least expensive model you can buy. What that means is you can own a car with the looks, style and prestige of a current model Altima for a fraction of the cost. In fact, because of the above average mileage, this Altima SE coupe may be the cheapest one you will find until a few years of depreciation have reduced the prices of other Altima coupes to the level of this one. It could be a while before that happens, so if you've always wanted a Code Red Altima coupe but thought you didn't quite have enough funds to purchase one, this car may just have your name on it. In other words, it's going to take a year or two before the other 2008 to 2010 SE V6 coupes that are advertised now for $16,000 to $20,000 depreciate down to the price of this Altima. So why wait that long? In a year or two their prices will be the same as this one is right now anyway, so you might as well own and enjoy it now!

The cost new of this loaded Altima SE V6 coupe was over $30,000! CLICK HERE to see the original pricing, But because it was a hot new model, most dealers were adding additional market adjustment markups (read rip off), so with tax, title and tags, you were lucky if you got ANY change back from your $35,000 bill!

The NADA Blue Book value for the car is $16,000. CLICK HERE to see the Blue Book. (They don't have an addition for the great color but they should!) I have the Buy It Now Price at $1,000 below that. This is a one owner southern car from South Carolina which is probably why it's so clean. CLICK HERE to see the title.

The car comes with two Intelligent keys and the wheel lock key:

If you are serious about buying an Altima coupe in general, and a V6 model specifically, this is about as low as they go because of the higher mileage. Remember, you can get a great deal here with prices sometimes way below retail, but no bidder is going to “steal” a vehicle and no seller is going to give one away either. Also when comparing prices, remember the things that you won't have to spend money on. Nearly no expense was spared to make this vehicle reliable for the next owner using the finest parts available. For example, the rear brake pads still had half their life left but I replaced them anyway. And the car had a perfectly good Interstate battery, but since it didn't look stock, I put in a brand new Nissan battery. It's those small details that you will notice now and appreciate a year or two from now. With this car you won't have to spend $600 for a new set of tires, you won't have to spend $500 on a coolant and transmission fluid service, you won't have to spend $300 on a complete front brake service, you won't have to spend $300 on a complete rear brake service, you won't have to spend $300 on a tune-up and filters service and you won't have to spend $300 on any upcoming scheduled maintenance. So other than routine oil and filter changes, there's not much you should have to do for the next 60,000 miles. With many of the other listings here, you're lucky if they even check the oil before delivery. Also, when comparing this Altima to the others listed, check if they come with both Intelligent keys because a new one from the dealer, with programming, is going to cost you $250. And if you lost that only key, it'll cost three times as much to replace the security module.

If you are looking for a Code Red Altima V6 coupe in beautiful condition at a low price, then this car is hard to beat. Also remember that we don't charge dealer processing fees or document fees that many other listings have for $200 or more and bury in their fine print. Car is located outside Washington DC. Can deliver for expenses. atikovi@email.com
