"I heard them say we reached Morrowind, I'm sure they'll let us go." - Jiub
Brorrowind is a collection of graphical mods for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. I put together this collection with the purpose of bundling all these mods into a single, easy to install package while removing most of the hassle associated with downloading and installing them individually. You won't need to edit morrowind.ini manually, or deal with load orders or activating mods, all this is done automatically with the help of a single program. All the tools needed are included (well, for the most part,) including Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGE) and Morrowind Code Patch. There's also a couple of tools to optimize the game, but we'll go over those later.
All the mods have been pre-fixed with Wrye Mash so there will be no conflicts between them. I didn't include the program because I wanted to keep things as simple as possible. Nevertheless, if you're planning on adding additional mods later, I recommend you download it.
I have also included the original readme files of all the mods included in the pack as well as any optional files that were included in case you'd like to try different textures or alternate .esp files, etc. They're all organized in a folder called Documents & Extras in your Morrowind root folder.
As I mentioned before, majority of the mods in this collection are graphical and they're not meant to change how the game is played in any way. The purpose of Brorrowind is to make Morrowind look pretty and modern-looking. You can always add more mods later, should you choose to do so, or you can disable some of the ones included if you don’t like them for some reason.
Note: This pack does not include the game or any of the expansions or patches.
Enjoy!

You will need a copy of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind with all the expansions. It can be either the GOTY edition or the three separate retail disks. It will NOT work with just Morrowind alone. The game must be fully installed and patched prior to installing Brorrowind. If you have the Steam version of the game then you have the GOTY edition and you can ignore this part since it has all the required content, including the updates. If you have the retail version of the game make sure you install the game, expansions and patches (links included) in the following order:
A fresh installation of Morrowind is recommended required in order to avoid any conflicts. Also, because the scope of this guide only covers the mods that are included in this collection, please, PLEASE don’t install any new mods until after you have properly installed and configured Brorrowind.
Having a good computer is extremely recommended. Netimmerse is a poorly optimized engine and even expensive gaming rigs that can run Crysis at ultra high will be brought to its knees.
Must have the latest versions of DirectX 9, Visual C++ and .NET 4.0 redistributable packages.
Up to date video card drivers
Note: Before you proceed, I recommended that you create a backup of your freshly-installed Morrowind folder so that you can restore the game if you mess up without having to install everything from scratch.

Before you install Brorrowind, run the game at least once and make sure everything is working properly. It would be a good idea to create a test character and go through the whole character creation process and save once you’re out in Seyda Neen. That way you don’t have to go through the whole thing if you need to do any troubleshooting later.
If you're on Vista or Windows 7, set Morrowind.exe, Morrowind Launcher.exe and MGEgui.exe to run as administrator or you will have problems.
If you’re using the Steam version of Morrowind, disable the in-game overlay because MGE will not work with it.
You will also need to change the creation and modification date of the game’s main .bsa files. This is what you need to do:
Download and install FileDate Changer.
The files that you need to change are in the Morrowind\Data Files folder. These are located at C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Morrowind\Data Files. If you’re using 64-bit windows it should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\* instead.
Using FileDate Changer, change the created date, modified date and accessed date of the Morrowind.bsa, Tribunal.bsa and Bloodmoon.bsa to 5/1/2002, 11/6/2002 and 6/3/2003 respectively.
Now you should be ready to install Brorrowind. Simply copy all the files in the Files folder to your Morrowind root folder usually located at C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\ if you have the retail version or C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Morrowind\ for the Steam version or wherever you installed it if you chose another location . Overwrite any existing files or folders.

All of the tools required to configure Brorrowind are located in the Morrowind\Tools folder with the exception of MGEgui.exe and Morrowind Code Patch.exe which are located in the Morrowind root folder.
Run Morrowind Code Patch.exe.
Check the following: Bump/reflect map local lighting, Rain/Snow Collision, Increase Light Falloff Range, Improved Animation Support and Map Expansion (for Tamriel Rebuilt). The rest is pretty much Optional but leave everything under Bug Fixes checked.
Click Apply Chosen Patches and exit.
Note: MCP will not work with pre-cracked, No-CD executables. It might work with a patcher but I can't guarantee anything.
Morrowini will apply a template to the morrowind.ini that includes the settings required for Brorrowind. This includes lighting, weather, sound settings, as well as the required load order, so you don’t have to mess around with any of that stuff.
Run Morrowini.exe.
Backup your Morrowind.ini by clicking on this .
Select Brorrowind.mit from the list (Should be the only one listed).
Apply the .ini settings and then exit.
This is the pre-patched version of Timeslip’s Exe Optimizer. This will do some FUCKING MIRACLES to the Morrowind.exe in order to reduce CTD’s (Crashes to Desktop).
Run MorrowPatch.exe. It should have the Morrowind folder already selected, if it's not, just hit browse and select it manually. Click OK to apply the patch.
Use this only if you have a 64-bit OS. This patches x86 executables on a 64-bit OS so they use 4GB of virtual memory instead of the usual 2GB.
Run 4gb_patch.exe. Select Morrowind.exe from the file dialog then click OK to patch the .exe.

I've given MGE its own section because it is such an extensive program. It is the meat and potatoes of this collection, and where most of the magic happens. Without it, we might as well go back to playing Oblivion.
It's easy to feel overwhelmed when first dealing with MGE, but with this guide will teach you the basics of the program and how to configure it to work with Brorrowind. I won't go into the details on how MGE works, as you can easily find documentation about the program online, but hopefully you'll learn how mess around with it and find out which settings work best for your PC.
MGE is organized in several tabs, we'll go through each one of them and talk about some of the settings and how to configure them for Brorrowind.
If you've played Oblivion, you will probably remember the Distant land setting which allows you to view far into the distance. This setting doesn't exist in Morrowind and your view distance is limited to few dozen meters or so at the highest setting. After that lies nothing but a foggy haze.
MGE allows us to create Distant Land in Morrowind. We'll go through the step by step creation process as well as configuring distant land once it has been created.
The Distant land file creation wizard is located under the Tools tab in MGE.
In MGE, shaders are text files with sets of instructions that add rendering effects to Morrowind, like ambient occlusion, depth of field, and BLOOMAN.
For Brorowind I've included Knot's Shader Pack from his guide (see the credits section at the end) and made variations of some of them for 75 FOV support, just because I wanted to keep this simple and didn't want to guide people on how to edit shaders (it's more laziness on my part to be really honest with you).
I've also removed all the shader files included with MGE to keep things clean. If you want to use them you can find them in Morrowind\Documents & Extras and copy them to Morrowind\Data Files\Shaders\default.
Open the Shader editor located under the Tools tab. Once the editor is open, click on Edit active chain to start adding shaders.
Add shaders from the list in the following order:
One of the versions of knx ssao wfixes by Phal. There's four versions (ONLY ADD ONE):
Finally, click on the Save button, to save the active chain.

First and foremost, credit & thanks to all the people involved in creating all the excellent mods included in this collection. Feel proud in knowing that your work has kept Morrowind alive for all these years and that without you this wouldn't be possible. If you want to find out who worked on what, check the 'Mod Credits' section above.
Also thanks to all the bros that that have written modding guides and have compiled lists of mods for Morrowind. One special mention is Knots, who has authored a wonderful guide from which most of this pack is based on. You can read the guide here.
And finally, a little bit of credit to myself, because despite what some people may think, putting this pack together was a pain in the ass, but fun nonetheless.
Feel free to re-distribute this. Re upload it, torrent it and pass it around like a Thai whore. Just make sure to include this guide with it.
