To the Government of Tunisia:

Your censorship of outside news sources, Wikileaks and any other information you find to be inconvenient, is reprehensible.  The phishing operations you have conducted, invading your own peoples privacy, was disgraceful.  The arrests of several free speech activists and bloggers in recent days was deplorable.  The punishing of people for simply expressing themselves politically was vile.  It is these things that have prompted the ire of Anonymous.

Your attempts at silencing dissent through these vicious acts will fail.   Such actions will only serve to strengthen the opposition you face internationally, domestically, and from Anonymous.

Anonymous is legion, for we are many, and so is the opposition to your oppressive regime.  It cannot be stopped with the arrests of a few.  The resistance you face will continue and will become more determined and stronger than ever before as a consequence of your most recent acts.

Release all journalists, citizen reporters, activists, and bloggers immediately.  Cease all censorship of the press and social media such as Facebook and blogs.  Until these conditions are met, expect the attacks on your servers to continue indefinitely.  For as long as the Tunisian people call upon Anonymous to help, we will be there to assist the people of Tunisia in circumventing your censors and openly communicate with the world beyond their borders.

Governments of the world, take note.  The resistance you face when attempting to restrict free speech and information flows is growing stronger every day.  We suggest you move in the opposite direction.  To do so will be of benefit to all of humanity.

Signed,

Anonymous.
